As a curious observer of the world around me, the universe beyond me, and the interconnected layers within me, I find that the art of exploration itself is fulfilling: translating chaos into cohesion, investigating our collective narrative, and engaging the existential gravity of humor.

Artist Statement

Brian has worked as an independent artist and illustrator in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado since 2010. He holds a BA in Fine Art and supplements his time creating paintings, illustrations, engraved prints, and graphic design. He’s been a resident at Studio for Arts + Works (SAW) in Carbondale, CO since 2013 and has managed the Carbondale Arts gallery since 2014. Brian also co-founded the Roaring Fork Drawing Club in the fall of 2017 and always has a sketchbook when he travels. In March of 2020 Brian created “The Unparalleled Universe”, a weekly comic strip published in The Sopris Sun (the first volume is now available to purchase online). In 2022 he joined family/friend band “Sweet Jessup and the Dirty Buckets”, playing his grandfather’s violin plus a toy piano, singing saw, and ‘ukulele. Never a dull moment.
